aren't these the most adorable buttons? they'd make cute clothes for an adult or child. i can't tell you which are my favs 'cause i love them all. i think the top ones look like swimmers for some reason and the bottom ones like flapper girls of course. you could draw or embroidery a whole doll around these on a little dress or coat. i posted some more pictures of my new york purchases on flickr. so many ideas churn in my head when i'm buying things. wish i had (like you all do) more time to play with my "stuff".
yesterday i made two sleep mat covers for my niece from material i bought in new york. they really came out cute-hope she loves them.
i'll post those tomorrow probably. today i'm bringing kt to the doc (she has some swelling in her wrist joint and severe pain) and then helping rach clip her dog this afternoon. maybe in between i can get something done in my studio! (if i get off the computer!!)
both my older kids have put their houses up for sale this week. rach and her family want a smaller house and yard and paul and his want a larger house. of course, it all hinges on if they can sell theirs. i hope they find what they want.

books from my childhood
looking for books for "shades of inspiration" weekly challenge. these were on top my bedroom armoire under some picnic baskets. i thought i only had needlepoint in the baskets but found some old unfinished projects from when i was pregnant with my first apparently. some lavender granny crochet squares, an aqua knitted blanket still on the needles, and other needlework projects. i'll have to revisit those baskets one day soon! visit my flickr stream for more pictures of old books and illustrations from them!

start spreading the news......
i'm so excited to be going again. i loved new york and can't wait to visit my fav stores again-tinsel trading, purl, metalliferous, and some more new ones. i can't wait to see my nephew and his family, baby's grow so fast and change so much in such a short time. my nephew's mom, sister, and his nephew are there already so i'm going up with another sister and her husband. my only worry is my foot giving me problems but i'll deal with that as it comes. wish me luck on that and i'll take beaucoup pics to share!!

tie one on
sneaking this in on my fourth of july posts! i finally entered an apron in angry chicken's tie one on flickr group. the theme was pie-making and this recipe is really good. i had extra tomatoes and wanted to try something new. i didn't make my own crust but i love the store bought one anyway. the apron is made from vintage fabric and trim from my mom. of course, katie cabbaged on to it right away and i had to get it back from her to take a picture. it was fun making the apron and pie!! go check out the other aprons-so much inspiration!!
