these little pieces of fabric are from my mom's. don't you love them? i wished i had yards of this to play with-i'll have to do something really cool with the little bits, any ideas??

pink saturday

time already for another pink saturday with beverly! june seems to have flown by.  haven't blogged all week because i'm still having problems with my tooth. the root canal couldn't be finished, my neck and throat got swollen and then my temporary cap cracked! there's been a lot of headaches in the house this week and not too much was accomplished. regardless, i now need to catch up with the blogging and post the winners from my blogiversary from last saturday.

my random number generator (this time my youngest son), has chosen numbers 8 (stefanie)and 23 (tina). i'll email y'all asap and get out your prizes. my apologies to my last blog winner from the sew mama sew contest.  i finally got her package off today because her info went to my spam folder. 

my first pink contribution are the two dresses below that my d-i-l gave to a cousin for her girls. the prints are so citrusy and cool!! i love sewing kids' clothes (as if you didn't know)!

my next picture is a fabulous win from cafe' chatalaine (one of our own pink girls). lovely seaside items including soaps, seashells, a poem book, notebook, vintage cards, a mesh bag and a whole roll of pink wish tickets!! one day i hope to get to new england, it's always been a dream of mine.

another win (with two of my favorite colors but no pink) all the way from kathy in australia from a blog named squishedfairy (isn't that cute!) fabrics, zippers, buttons, beads, embroidery transfers and a wonderful crochet hook roll that i need desperately!! 
i've been feeling so lucky in blogland!! mostly because of the wonderful people out there and fun posts that everyone shares. thanks to you all!! happy pink week!

good saturday morning to all-pink and otherwise!! i'm celebrating my 1st blogiversary and want to give this pink chenille brooch to the winner! i'm also giving away a vintage button bracelet for another prize but i don't have a picture of that. my random generator (my mom) will choose a number for me from the comments and next wednesday i'll post the names as soon as i can. hope all of y'all join me in celebrating!! 

things around home have been pretty quite. we took a little 3 day vacation to lake charles casino and really had a great, relaxing time. (except for the sunburn!) the lazy river and kiddie pool there are so nice and georgia and will both loved it!! also been staying with my mom some nights 'cause my sister who lives with her is out of town. that's a vacation too-can't compute so i get to read (all of the twilight books-very entertaining) and knit. almost finished g's dress for the fourth of july. should be able to catch up with pictures of that and a couple of other projects next week since lee will be home with my camera. next monday i'll finally get my lovely root canal and hopefully will be finished with that pain if it can be done!

what is in a name?

1/4 of an inch is hosting a post about how "your blog" name developed. my name evolves from my french cajun heritage. in my profile i state how a little "lagniappe" is loved by everyone. little extras given to us throughout our lives, good friends, wonderful blogging buddies, loving families, strengths we didn't know we had. i could go on and on and i'm sure all of you have your "lagniappe" in life. above is my lagniappe offering for today! that little tendril climbing up the stalk of the agapantha made me smile. it was my little extra for that day!!

my first pickings for the summer. none of the plants are doing too great. i don't know what's going on. i will enjoy these though! don't know how much i'll be able to post in the next few weeks. gave my camera to lee for his trip to europe but i'll see if i can borrow one maybe a few times.

picked these up at a local shop which has so much to choose from, really fine fabrics too like batiste, linens, etc. i'd like to smock them both for g this summer so i need new needles for my pleater-maybe i'll pick that up this week!
