Lately...

A few things I've been up to:

Alabama Chanin inspired chair cover for Lee

Pink Lemonade Stand for Georgia (made with recycled wood pieces already painted pink)

Low fat muffins made with yogurt and egg whites

Made lemon curd with the yolks (sort of defeats the purpose of the low fat?)

Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. We're having beautifully cool weather today after record breaking highs. Going outside to enjoy!

Spring

I finally changed my header from winter to spring and now it's almost summer over here. Of course we've been having strangely cooler weather than usual. So nice in the evenings especially. Perfect for sitting outside and visiting or reading. We've added another new baby to our family a couple of weeks ago, Audrey Rose. She is beautiful (of course) and weighed 9lbs. 6ozs. when she was born. And that hair! It's so soft and thick. Having fun with them all of course and looking forward to some lovely evenings. Hopefully I'll get my act together and start posting more.

Hope to get back to posting more regularly soon. November and December were so busy but really filled with fun and love. Moving on to the New Year which started with two parties on each of the first two weekends already. This weekend will be a quiet one so I think I need to start cleaning up my sewing room to get ready for whatever's next! Hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year so far.

Bragging rights

I've been having  a secret for ages now and I can finally share! I'm so excited to be a part of this......

Cathy was so generous to ask me to participate by making a doll quilt and I'm so honored. At first I was really anxious because look at all that talent that's in there with me. Some pretty awesome little quilts, uh? (And adorable girls!)

And here's mine....

I made this little quilt for my mom~I know she'd be so proud of me. All the fabrics come from her stash (which was truly unbelievable). I have so many vintage pieces from her and wanted to honor her with this. That's her initials. The white textured fabrics were stored in a stack in one of her back rooms. I know she must have had a dream for these pieces. Hopefully, my little dream quilt has fulfilled a part of that. So if you love to sew cute, new ideas and dolly quilts, check your local bookstore, fabric shop or Amazon to order your copy.

These all look like so much fun and a little masterpiece can be all yours to have or to give to someone you love.

Linking to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound~there's lots of pink doll quilts in there!!

p.s. Tomorrow I should have another baby to share with y'all~pray everything goes well for my daughter Katie and her new little one, Oliver John!!

Here he is:
Oliver John Dufrene; 8 lbs. 4 oz. All doing well!

Pink Saturday

Good morning! A gorgeous day here in South Louisiana and I'm looking forward to a beautiful weekend! I haven't joined Pink Saturday in a while but have a little time this morning to do some pink browsing again with Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. I hope everyone is enjoying nice weather and having a good time too!!

Today I'm sharing a birthday project today that I made for my great niece. I made a little coat hanger and crocheted around it. Then I crocheted a little cupcake and made a matching nightgown and robe for her American Girl. I love sewing and making things for those I love!

I also made a gift for one of Katie's friends who had a little boy. His room is decorated with rockets so I appliqued a rocket and free motioned stitched a saying on a taggy blanket. Sweet babies. I'm so looking forward to Katie having her little boy Ollie any day now. More fun times ahead!

Happy Pink Saturday to y'all all!

For some reason I couldn't link to How Sweet the Sound all weekend so trying again.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom of four adult children. I've always been interested in creating and have been sewing since I was a young girl. Everyone loves lagniappe. It's the little extra things in life that make it special, whether it's a sweet, sticky kiss from a child or a great cajun cup of coffee.
