Wonderful win, Wonderful project

I'd first like to thank Freda's Hive for this stack of incredibleness! I won these last week or so and when I received them I was so thrilled! I want to make some valentine gifts and these prints are perfect. Now to decide exactly what to make!!

Next is a picture of the knitting project I started. Of course, I didn't have the same yarn which will make a size difference (which doesn't matter) but the small yarn is probably making it harder to see what I'm doing. Taking each row at a time and still have to rip back. The written instructions are much more confusing than the chart. At first I was so intimidated by the chart but now that I understand it I can follow it better. Hopefully I'll finish this before I become too frustrated! Pink Saturday

My life right now pretty much revolves around my grandkids which is fine by me! The photo below is Avery in her outfit for her trip home from the hospital. Her mom bought her a bishop smocked dress and I made her a little pink sweater to wear with it. I'm so glad it fit her so well. So often I knit something and the fit leaves much to be desired!

Her parents have been very lucky so far-she's a sweet baby and doesn't cry much at all. Her brother on the other hand has had a little trouble adjusting. He says he loves his "sissy" but he wants his mom to pick him up and hold him and she can't just yet. Of course, his grandmoms and pops are only too happy to entertain him!

Christmas in October

It's so hard to believe it's already October! I haven't posted in forever but really getting some things done. Sewing still for some little girls, making some jewelry from old buttons and vintage finds, and knitting in the evenings. This is  a pattern I'm doing for  a Christmas gift-probably one of the hardest I've done as far as tediousness. I couldn't understand the instructions for the body (will have to find some help there) so I started on the sleeves.

This little bit took about 2 days!! The color is much prettier in person-from Spud and Chloe.

And I had to include a sweet picture of my little grandson-he needed glasses and I think he's so cute! He's been fabulous with wearing them all the time but it's so funny because they're sooooooo dirty all the time!

red, white and blue.....the third day

a dress for georgia. i had so much fun making this one. tried different methods for the stars, intarsia, stranding, but finally decided to duplicate stitch them. the red thread showed too much behind the white. really happy with the way it turned out and can't wait to see her wear it!
