New Chair cover

I've been wanting to cover my sewing machine chair for some time now. It was nasty and full of holes from years of use and abuse. (I think I bought it in 1987, the same year I got my sewing machine).

I love bloggers!! From them I got the idea to make my own fabric using selvedges. So much fun and so much color! I used a piece of muslin to trace the back and seat and filled up the area with selvedges and a few pieces of polka dot fabrics. I couldn't undo the seat part so I pushed the piece in with a screwdriver. The back came off and I wrapped that piece around and hot glued it before I put it back together. Now I have a comfy, beautiful chair!

Don't you just love it? Zoom in for a closer look!

I'm so excited! Karen is featuring my chair on Selvage Blog. If you love inspiration, you'll love her posts!!

  1. Love the cover! The idea of using selvedge is so clever, sometimes the selvedge is just as nice as the fabric, and with such nice fonts too! Now your chair looks fab and can inspire your sewing every time you sit on it! Great project and great result!
